About the bench

Power station marketing is a watt-hour arms race with the useful numbers buried in footnotes. Spec pages tout capacity but hide surge ratings; runtime claims assume loads nobody actually plugs in; and chemistry — the difference between a battery that lasts three years and one that lasts ten — rarely makes the headline.

WattRatings is built around a single structured spec database (14 stations, 20 modeled household loads, growing). Every rating, calculator result, verdict page, and head-to-head on the site is computed from that database with documented assumptions, so when a spec is corrected, every answer updates with it.

We earn affiliate commissions when you buy through our links — that's the business model, disclosed on every page it applies. The scores are computed before the links are attached. Read how we rate for the full firewall.
